2018 International Girl Child Day

In developing regions, the girl child often has to deal with issues of gender stereotypes, abuse, and equal opportunities. Despite this, a percentage of adolescent girls under 18 will be married and those aged between 15 to 19 become pregnant.

To mark this year’s International Day of the Girl Child, Agatha Amata, founder of IOWA Foundation hosted young girls from ten (10) schools across the Lagos metropolis to her first Empowerment Series themed “VALUE YOURSELF” in a bid to enlighten and empower them on their rights and self-worth on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at the Inside out Studio Ilupeju Lagos.
